Volunteering

You get free entry to the event, the experience of working on a music festival and meeting plenty of fantastic people.

Soundwave volunteers are required for a variety of roles such as:

• Taking tickets, handing out programs and wristbanding at the Gate
• Patrolling the festival site as a Crowd Carer
• Providing general assistance in the Signing Tent
• Delivering rider/catering around the festival site
• Packing rider/catering the day before the festival

Shifts go for 4-6 hours, depending on where you are assigned, with the exception of rider packing which is the entire day before Soundwave. Please see below for more info:

Gate Staff

Gate staff will be assigned to one of these roles on the day: Wristbander/Ticket Taker/Barcode Scanner/Program Issuer.

Crowd Care

Crowd carer's primary responsibilities are patrolling their designated area, assisting punters with various questions and reporting/directing issues to their coordinators or the appropriate people. Crowd carers are essentially are the eyes and ears of the event, making sure the patrons are safe and comfortable.

Signing Tent

The tasks undertaken in the Signing Tent will be varied. They may include providing general assistance to staff, collecting ticket stubs, or helping to keep patrons in line.

Rider/catering delivery - Show day

Responsibilities involve delivering rider and tidying up. Rider/catering staff will also be required to deliver water/soft drink/snacks to various staff all over the site. Physical strength is a necessity.

Rider/catering packing - Day before show day

This role requires volunteers to be available for the whole day before the show, preparing and packing rider.

Depending on the role, events/festival experience is favourable. Please include any relevant experience in your application.

Volunteers should arrive at the festival site before orientation around 9:00am. This is so we can check off your name and you can meet your supervisors and find out more about your job on the day.

We try to accommodate requests for certain shifts, but due to the volume of volunteers, this is not always possible.
