How does one gauge the success of a band pushing the envelope of a genre that receives little to no credit by the mainstream media? In the case of A WILHELM SCREAM, the answer is “Who cares?” – As a band playing punk rock for over a decade, original members Trevor Reilly, Nuno Pereira and Nick Angelini haven’t focused on success, image or whatever bandwagon a group can jump on to get their music into the ears of listeners: It’s the ideal of music from an honest place, playing to the kids who want to hear more than a simple love song, or want an opinion rammed down their throats.

After a relentless touring schedule that found A WILHELM SCREAM in far reaches of the developed world with bands like Rise Against, Strung Out, Anti Flag, Pennywise and Lagwagon, the band that Alternative Press hailed as the new heirs of the skate-punk scene, finally settled down in their second home: Blasting Room studios.

Career Suicide is just as smart, just as anthemic as Mute Print and Ruiner, but this time around A WILHELM SCREAM speeds up their formula to a neck-breaking pace. And with a new bass-player, Brian Robinson, who keeps up with, and even pushes, the maniacal guitar duo of Reilly-Supina, Career Suicide thoroughly pummels. That’s saying something about a band that’s never pulled punches.
