We are thrilled to confirm that the final addition to Soundwave 2010 are the undisputed legends of post-hardcore, GLASSJAW. Their influence has been staggering, the loyalty towards them astounding and the number of careers owed to them, unfathomable.
Firmly rooted in New York hardcore, GLASSJAW's style bends and breaks with diverse sounds that crush together experimental rock, afro-beat, screamo, rapcore/nu-metal, hardcore punk, progressive and psychedelic rock. With their debut album 'Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence' their razor sharp riffs and visceral vocals were put together so uniquely to anything else that was being done at the time, they practically created their own genre and made them impossible to ignore - or get out of your head.
The last album GLASSJAW released, back in 2002, 'Worship And Tribute', is worthy of it's name. A bewildering and forceful record that appeals emotively with passionate lyrics, songwriting and Palumbo's manic yet concentrated vocals, 'Worship And Tribute' also makes your brain explode with it's intelligent technical construction, innovative use of effects and it's perfect movement and balance between aggressive and tender.
Although hard to imagine, GLASSJAW's live shows are even more intense than their records, "hearing Palumbo singing those songs in the flesh, you understand why this band has been elevated to rock royalty status; watching how the band intertwines after so long apart, you know they were meant to be together." - Drowned In Sound

To anyone going to the Melbourne sidewave, I think we need to take affirmative action in preventing a Sydney situation. the palace website has listed GJ 9:00-9:50pm, that is third in line after they were supposedly 'headlining'.
to ALL Glassjaw fans.......I plead with you; we've waited 10 fucking years for this band to grace our shores and there is NO FUCKING WAY i'm getting short-changed for this band. Even 50 minutes isn't enough, considering anyone who bought a ticket was expecting AN HOUR at least as a headlining act.
TEN FUCKING YEARS I'VE WAITED, WHO KNOWS HOW LONG I HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE THEY GRACE OUR SHORES AGAIN.........
***and that is why, when this band gets on stage in Melbourne, I need EVERY SINGLE glassjaw fan to be chanting their name as loud as fucking possible............
***and that is why, when this band is getting OFF the stage, I need EVERY SINGLE glassjaw fan to be chanting their name as loud as fucking possible.........
***and that is why even when SDRE are setting up to play their set, I need EVERY SINGLE glassjaw fan to be chanting for MORE GLASSJAW as loud as fucking possible
I want these organisers to realise who the fuck we came for and give us the headline set length........because THIS IS THE LEAST THE BAND DESERVES, AND IT IS CERTAINLY THE LEAST US GLASSJAW FANS DESERVE AFTER 10 FUCKING YEARS THINKING WE WILL NEVER SEE THIS FUCKING BAND
